JAKARTA - The Indonesian economy began to grow after Indonesia entered the "new normal" phase. One of the government's steps as expressed by the Coordinating Minister for Economy Airlangga Hartarto is to provide support to local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) business to accelerate national economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic's economic blackout.
In dealing with Covid-19 pandemic, not only the government, but this multi-dimensional crisis demands active participation from various parties. Contribution from the education and banking sectors is very important to produce young talents who can become young entrepreneurs so as to help accelerate revival of the MSME sector. Therefore, MNC College and MNC Bank held the MNCC SUMMER VIRTUAL COMPETITION 2020 competition with themed "Creativity Reinvented".
The activity which was held online Wednesday (26/8/2020) was broadcast live by RCTI+ as a media partner. The activity was attended by students who competed in teams to produce the best business plan samples, as well as competitions to produce the best video learning. The competition also had educational sessions from MNC Bank to gives insights from the banking industry.
The event address was given by Ms. Lu'lu'ul Jannah from MNC College as the competition's person in charge. He explained that students are expected to be the nation's pioneers generation who are able to overcome economic and educational problems, so that they can creatively contribute to improving Indonesian economy.
Furthermore, Commercial Business Group Head of MNC Bank Guritno participated shares in the educational session of MNC Bank entitled "A Good Business Plan From a Banking Side". He reminds in one of his explanations the difference between a Feasible Business Plan and a Bankable Business Plan.
"Character is one of the main things to determine integrity and goodwill of a prospective debtor in completing his obligations. Although in business and financial terms it is very feasible, if it is not accompanied by good character, it will be risky for the bank, "said Guritno.
In the competition's final session, a presentation from one team each on business plan presentation and video learning presentation was presented. Winners are immediately announced at the end of the activity as the highlight of the event.
Contacted separately, the President Director of MNC Bank Mahdan revealed that MNC Bank always supports the creation of new business fields by providing sound literacy education. This is done because it is in line with the financial literacy program promoted by the Financial Services Authority and at the same time to create potential customers in the future.
"We hope that the efforts and synergy between education and banking can foster reliable young entrepreneurs from the millenial generation. So the local economy foundation is getting stronger thus accelerating the recovery of national economy, "concluded Mahdan.
